After studying Modern Languages at Durham University, Tim trained at RADA. He began acting professionaly in 1989 and in 2001 began to focus on directing.  Since then has pursued a career as a director, actor, writer and dramaturg.

Tim has worked also worked as a producer (Libra Theatre, Edinburgh and London Fringe), developed pieces as dramaturg/producer (Norwich and Norfolk festival, Playwrights East and the Pulse Festival). He has a personal interest in the use of technology in performance and has written numerous scripts for both theatre and digital media output including the interactive drama "Ghosts" for BBC Hull/Hull City Council, various games scripts for BBC Jam (Formerly BBC Digital Curriculum) as well as an award winning web based experience for CBBC online. 

In 2018 Tim comleted and MA in Playwriting at Essex University with distinction.

He is currently writing and directing for Ruthie Henshall's company, 3 Pin Productions
